‘The Last Anniversary’: Teresa Palmer Receives Something New In Sneak Peek Of AMC+ Mystery Series

A new drama series from the producers of HBO’s Big Little Lies and Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers prepare a new limited series at AMC+. According to a press release, The Last Anniversary will commence this Sunday, March 30 on the streaming service. Ahead of its premiere, AMC Networks has released a sneak peek at the six-episode drama starring Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches, The Fall Guy) . View the clip below.

The two-minute clip finds Palmer’s Sophie Honeywell meeting with a former boyfriend, Thomas. After showboating his new wife and children, Sophie demands to know why he called her out of the blue. Thomas’ nanny passed away recently and bequeathed Sophie a peculiar item: a house.

Based on the New York Times bestseller from Liane Moriarty (Apples Never Fall, Here One Moment), The Last Anniversary takes place on the decadent Scribbly Gum Island. Underneath its remote serenity, lay dark secrets, one in particular about a couple’s disappearance years prior. However, this doesn’t keep Sophie Honeywell from embracing the idyllic scenery after inheriting a home on the land. What was meant to be a fresh start devolves into something else as she’s drawn to investigate age-old family secrets and the three generations of women they have affected.

The press release lists a strong supporting cast including Josephine Blazier (Silver and the Book of Dreams, Fires), Elizabeth Cullen (Elvis, Darby and Joan), Leon Ford (The Letdown, Rams), Angela Punch McGregor (The Island, Troppo), Charlie Garber (Sando, Spirited), Danielle MacDonald (The Tourist, Bird Box), Miranda Richardson (Good Omens, The House), Claude Scott-Mitchell (The Dry, Hotel Portofino), Helen Thomson (Colin from Accounts, Gettin’ Square), Uli Latukefu (Young Rock, Alien: Covenant), Nikki Shiels (Prosper, Bloom), Xavier Samuel (Blonde, Love & Friendship), Susan Prior (The Rover, A Cold Summer), Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (The Diplomat, Underbelly), and Ines English (Last Days of the Space Age, Dead Lucky).

Produced by Fifth Season, Made Up Stories and Blossom Films, the series is led by head writer Samantha Strauss (Dance Academy, The End) with all six episodes directed by John Polson (Elementary, Law & Order: Organized Crime). Co-writer Sara L. Walker (A Discovery of Witches, Get Even) contributed to episodes 3 and 6; Greg Waters (Wellmania, Secret City) to episode 5; and Giula Sandler (The House Across the Street, Nowhere Boys) on episode 4. Blossom Films’ Per Saari (Trespass, Rabbit Hole) and Nicole Kidman (Holland, Babygirl) are executive producers alongside Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea (The Nightingale, Gone Girl), Jodi Matterson (Wolf Like Me, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), and Steve Hutenksy (The Human Stain, 2:22). Moriarty also serves as an EP with Alison Hurbert-Burns (The Twelve, How to Make Gravy) and Lana Greenhalgh (Love Me, Upright) with BINGE.
