Season three of The L Word: Generation Q has added four guest stars, including Joey Lauren Adams (Grey’s Anatomy), two-time Emmy nominee Joanna Cassidy (Odd Mom Out), Emmy nominee Margaret Cho (Good Trouble), and R&B singer Kehlani. Laurel Holloman (Gigantic), who played Tina in the previous seasons, and Emmy Award winner Rosie O’Donnell (Run The World), who played Carrie in the second season, will reprise their roles for the upcoming season. Jamie Clayton (Sense8), a previous guest star who played Tess in the earlier seasons, has been promoted to a series regular for the third season.
Cho will portray a fictionalized version of herself in the series. Her recent television credits include guest roles on HBO Max’s Emmy Award-winning series Hacks and The Flight Attendant, Discovery+’s The Book of Queer, Comedy Central’s Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, and Disney+’s Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. Her recent voice acting credits include turns in Tuca and Bertie, Little Ellen, Bubble Guppies, and The Great North.
Adams will play Taylor, a self-deprecating barista with a secret passion. Her recent credits include Noam Tomaschoff’s Tankhouse, Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, CMT’s Still The King, and the Miller Brothers’ All the Birds Have Flown South.
Cassidy will play Patty, Tess’s mom and a former Las Vegas showgirl with dementia and multiple sclerosis. Cassidy’s recent credits include turns in Leverage: Redemption, NCIS: New Orleans, Younger, D. Mitry’s My True Fairytale, Too Old to Die Young, and Tacoma FD.
Kehlani will join the series as Ivy, a young parent who works as Alice’s makeup artist and ultimately falls for the wrong person. For their music career, they have received two Grammy Award nominations, a BET Award nomination, a GLAAD Media Award nomination, and nominations from The Queerites and the iHeartRadio Music Awards. They also received a feature in Forbes’s “30 Under 30” list in 2016 for music. The L Word: Generation Q will be Kehlani’s acting debut in a major television project.

Season three of The L Word: Generation Q will premiere on Friday, November 18, on-demand and on SHOWTIME’s streaming platforms. The season premiere will debut on cable on Sunday, November 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
