The Innocent Will Be Imprisoned In A&E’s Upcoming Reality Series ’60 Days In’

A&E is definitely pushing reality TV to new levels! Especially with several of its new shows including Born This Way a docuseries which follows seven adults with Down syndrome who pursue their various dreams and Fit to Fat to Fit a series about personal trainers who make themselves overweight so they can better motivate their clients by losing weight together.

Now A&E’s new series, 60 Days In, can be added to the network’s list of unconventional and intriguing reality shows. According to Entertainment Weekly, the 12-episode series will be placing innocent people with no criminal backgrounds in jail. These seven innocent civilians will basically pose as prisoners to give viewers insight on what life is like behind bars.

The participants in 60 Days In will be spending two months at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville, Indiana which holds roughly 500 prisoners who were charged with offenses ranging from drug dealing to capital murder.

The creator of the program is Sheriff Jamey Noel. And neither the staff or inmates at the Clark County Jail were aware of the prison experiment because this would help to better uncover the reality of things in prison.

Noel said in a statement that “The only way to truly understand what was going on in the jail was to implement innocent participants into the system to provide first-hand unbiased intelligence,” Noel also stated “Those brave volunteers helped us identify critical issues without our system that undercover officers would have not been able to find. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success of this inaugural program.”

Several of the participants in the upcoming series include a former marine looking to become a DEA agent, a police officer, the brother of a current convict, and a social worker who wants to end gang violence.

You can watch what unravels in 60 Days In on March 10 via A&E.
