Acclaimed drama The Handmaid’s Tale will return to Hulu on April 25 per reports from Deadline.com. Set to a haunting version of For What It’s Worth, the teaser below depicts Offred’s continuing trials and tribulations in the land of Gilead.
The Golden Globe winning series will start by releasing two chapters on the premiere date with new drops every Wednesday for a total of 13 episodes. Season 2 will address Offred’s pregnancy and subsequent battle to free her child from the dystopian horror.
During their segment at TCA over the weekend, show creator Bruce Miller made the announcement that Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei will appear in one episode. Fans and critics alike felt Tomei’s appearance was completely relevant given her notoriety in the #MeToo movement.
The Deadline article addressed concerns the show would stray far from the original Margaret Atwood novel. Miller assured TCA attendees that material not covered in season 1 will definitely appear in season 2. He also elaborated that, “she (Atwood) is the mother of the series… we are not exiting that world at all.”
