On July 15, the Hallmark Channel announced the renewals of 3 of its well-received lifestyle series, including the ninth season of Home and Family, the seventh season of Good Witch, and the fifth season of Chesapeake Shores, per Deadline. In addition, the network also announced the initial 18 of 40 Christmas movies planned for the holiday season.
Home and Family aired its first episode in 1996 and is an American morning talk show which was originally hosted by Cristina Ferrare (The Impossible Years, Mary, Mary, Blood Mary), Michael Burger (Mike and Maty, Family Challenge), and Chuck Woolery (Wheel of Fortune, Lingo). The Emmy-nominated series will return for its ninth season, now hosted by Debbie Matenopoulsos (The View, The Insider) and Cameron Mathison (Murder, She Baked, All My Children). The show features Do It Yourself (DIY) tips, gardening, and celebrity interviews.
Good Witch aired its first episode with the network in 2015. The series stars Catherine Bell (The Good Witch’s Family) as Cassie Nightingale who begins a magical journey when Dr. Sam Radford, played by James Denton (Desperate Housewives) and his son move next door to Nightingale and her teenage daughter.
Chesapeake Shores stars Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time, True Justice) as Abby O’Brien, a driven woman who left her home in Chesapeake Shores to live in New York and carry out her career. The series follows the divorced mother of two as her short trip back to her hometown and her reunions with estranged loved ones lead her to believe that the only way to become more of a hands-on mother to her children is to move back home.
In additions to these renewals, which come months after the renewal of the Hallmark original series When Calls The Heart for an eighth season, Hallmark Channel has also released the official start date for the network’s “Countdown to Christmas,” which will feature 23 original films. The countdown can be expected to begin on October 23 on The Hallmark Channel.
