With as much power as this show wields, it only makes sense for it to continue.
Variety announced that The Good Fight was renewed for season two. The Good Fight, like many of you would know, was the spinoff of The Good Wife, taking notable characters from the first series and dropping them in completely different circumstances.
The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Delroy Lindo, Justin Bartha, and Rose Leslie. Robert and Michelle King serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. Phil Alden Robinson also co-created the series, and also co-wrote and executive produced the first episode of the season. Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Brooke Kennedy, Alison Cross, and Liz Glotzer are also credited executive producers.
News of The Good Fight‘s renewal has come a bit early, as it’s only halfway through it’s freshman season. However, Variety reported that the series isn’t hindered by daily ratings because of the subscription service for CBS All Access, which frees up the series to be renewed earlier. With that all said and done, The Good Fight did possess an audience of 7.17 million dollars for the season premiere, and CBS All Access has almost 1.5 million subscribers.
Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer of CBS Interactive, spoke highly of the show: “We’re only a few episodes into the first season and the reaction from CBS All Access subscribers and critics alike has been phenomenal. This series and its characters are just beginning and we can’t wait to see where Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the amazing cast take The Good Fight next.”
Now that we have the peace of mind to know the series will continue, we can watch the remaining five episodes of the season without wondering if this will be it.
The Good Fight airs Sundays on CBS.
