The girls are back for more Harlem with the return of season three and an exclusive look from Prime Video. Harlem is set to return for its highly anticipated third season at the start of next year. The new season will premiere on January 23, 2025.
In an exclusive reveal from Prime Video, season three of Harlem promises to follow the four core women as they navigate unprecedented changes.
After the jaw-dropping cliffhanger from season two with one of the four main characters, all ladies are slated to come back, including Meagan Good (Divorce in the Black, Stomp the Yard) as Camille, Jerrie Johnson (Mother’s Milk, Good Trouble) as Tye, Grace Byers (Empire, The Blackening) as Quinn and Shoniqua Shandai (Sing It! I’ll See You in My Dreams) as Angie. One of them has a bundle of joy on the way, and now we get to find out who.
Harlem is one of a very short pool of shows centered around such a strong group of female friends. Some similar examples would be Girlfriends, Insecure, Sista’s, Living Single, Run the World, Twenties, Bigger and A Different World.
The show’s characters met in college yet are all very different. Camille, who is played by Good, is a sophisticated and intelligent professor at Columbia University, renowned for her engaging classes on the Anthropology of Sex and Love; however, she has had her own relationship struggles thus far.
Byers, who portrays Quinn, a talented yet hilariously unlucky-in-love fashion designer, runs a boutique selling chic clothes but struggles financially. Heavily reliant on her parents’ trust fund, she navigates life with guilt over her privilege, driving her commitment to charity work. Despite her wealthy background and complicated relationship with her affluent parents, Quinn’s heart of gold shines through as she strives to support her friends and discover her own path, including finding the right partner.
Shandai, who plays Angie, the loud and filter-free aspiring singer, is known for her powerful voice and bold personality. Despite not holding a steady job in recent years, she lives rent-free in Quinn’s swanky apartment. As the group’s designated party girl, Angie is always up for fun and living life to the fullest. A true creative soul, she prefers performing at open mics over a permanent singing gig at a swanky hotel. Angie knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to pursue her impulses, including her sexual desires. While she may be the ultimate party girl, she doesn’t hesitate to call out anyone when necessary.
Johnson, who plays Tye, the brilliant and assertive owner of Q, the pioneering online dating app for queer people of color, juggles a demanding career filled with challenges from ignorant investors to high-profile magazine interviews. Despite her professional success, Tye prefers to keep her personal life uncomplicated, often dating women who don’t match her intellectually. Known for her strong exterior, Tye has her vulnerable moments, which she keeps hidden. While she dedicates much of her time to supporting her friends, Tye must remember to prioritize her own well-being, too.
The cast has had a multitude of guest appearances from Jasmine Guy (A Different World, K.C. Undercover), Rick Fox (Twenties, He Got Game), Rachel True (Half & Half, The Craft) and Sherri Shepard (Mr. Iglesias, The View). Most of them played the parents of our leads, but True also played a love interest.
To spice things up even more, newcomers Kofi Siriboe (Girls Trip, Really Love), Logan Browning (Hit the Floor, Dear White People), Robin Givens (Batwoman, The Family That Preys) and Gail Bean (Paradise Lost, Insecure) join the cast in recurring roles. Siriboe will portray Seth, an MLB player whose confident, charming and sweet mannerisms land him a spot in one of the ladies’ hearts. Browning will portray Portia, an edgy and beautiful woman, along with Tyler Lepley (P-Valley, The Haves and Have Nots), who plays Ian and whose return to Harlem causes a stir. Bean will portray Given’s daughter, Eva, a driven yet playful venture capitalist who has started working with Tye, played by Johnson.
As Harlem prepares to return for its highly anticipated third season, the four women are poised to confront new challenges that will test their friendships, careers and personal growth like never before. From uncharted waters in love and family to the ever-evolving quest for self-discovery, these stylish, ambitious women will continue to carve their own paths, prioritizing their dreams and desires above all else. With a star-studded cast, including the return of fan-favorite characters and exciting new faces, Harlem promises to deliver more of the humor, heart and drama that fans have come to love. Mark your calendars for January 23 because the girls are back and ready for more.
