According to Deadline, the trailer has been released for the second season of HBO’s The Gilded Age. The Gilded Age was first released on Jan. 24th of 2022 and fans have been anticipating the second installment ever since. The new season is set to premiere on Oct. 29th, says Deadline.
The Gilded Age is a period drama that closesy follows the lives of characters such as Bertha Russel, Marian Brook, Peggy Scott, and others. The show aims to reveal the lives of these characters as the world shifts into a more modern age and the characters are forced to adjust to these changes in society while also staying true to their values.
HBO gave a synopsys for the program on their official website, stating that “The Gilded Age follows a young woman who moves in with her old-money aunts and quickly gets entangled in the social war between them and their new-money neighbors. In a world on the brink of the modern age, will she follow the rules of society or forge her own path?”
HBO also alluded to the premise of the the season on the website, saying that “In Season 2 of The Gilded Age, Bertha inches toward a leading role in society, Marian starts teaching, Ada begins a new courtship, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit.”
Deadline was able to expand on this, citing that the season will begin on Easter morning with Bertha Russel being rejected from a bid at The Academy of Music. From there, it will follow the characters as they challenge social customs and fight for improved opportunities as females.
With the new season being set into motion, it will answer open-ended questions from last season and indulge in new conflicts for the characters. It will also continue to shine light on this time period as it evolves.
