A new medical drama, The Front Line, is currently in the works at ABC, according to Deadline. The series will reportedly be executive produced by Michael Strahan (Good Morning America) and written by Marc Halsey (The Resident).
The show will center around Sebastian “Bass” Clark, a former professional football player who transitioned into working for medical field as a medical resident in a prestigious Pittsburgh hospital. Halsey has had previous experience with medical dramas, having executive produced Fox’s The Resident, as well as Fox’s Rosewood, NBC’s Good Girls, and the upcoming season of Amazon’s Jack Ryan.
The show is said to “navigate high-stakes medical cases with all the adrenaline, warmth, and big-heartedness of a great sports movie,” via Deadline.
While fictional, The Front Line will surround a major life choice that several real-life NFL players have made in the past. Thus far, no official news regarding the series’ cast has been revealed yet.
