Per CNN, Saturday Night Live has enlisted the talent of Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow, Sing 2) and leading actor of The White Lotus season three Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones, The Hateful Eight).
The late-night powerhouse announced on Thursday, according to CNN, that Johansson would be in the May 17th episode, which is the season finale. The finale is also set to feature international hip-hop star Bad Bunny. Mxdwn reported previously that Bad Bunny’s recent album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” dropped in January. A possible appearance in a skit during that show might not be too far-fetched, as he previously made a guest appearance as “hot brother” Santiago back in February.
This will mark the seventh time Johansson has joined her husband, Colin Jost (Tom & Jerry, Fly Me To The Moon), and “Weekend Update” co-host, on the live broadcast sketch comedy show.
Johansson’s last appearance on the show saw her playing in a skit that took aim at The White House and The White Lotus, killing two birds with one stone in a cleverly titled sketch, “White Potus.” She took the role of Ivanka Trump.
Goggins, who has already proven his comedy genius and impressionist prowess alongside long-time co-star Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express) in both The Righteous Gemstones and Vice Principals, should make a perfect addition to the already star-studded cast of comedic all-stars.
Saturday Night Live is celebrating its 50th anniversary, with no decline in sight. According to an article by mxdwn back in February, SNL’s 50th anniversary special drew in an astonishing 14.8 million viewers across NBC and Peacock. This was no small feat as it marked it as NBC’s most-watched primetime entertainment broadcast in five years.
CNN also reports that musical guest Benson Boone, “Beautiful Things” performer, will accompany Goggins. SNL airs on Saturday nights on NBC 11:30 PM ET.
