As stated by Deadline, Jon Stewart (Big Daddy, Irresistible) will remain the host of The Daily Show through 2025. The comedian is sticking around, most likely to make fun of the next President of the United States. It was unsurprising decision to make Stewart stay as host as he has made the show very popular. The Comedy Central show has skyrocketed for ratings and cultural capital. Previously, Stewart mentioned he would host during the elections.
Stewart will stay on Monday Nights on The Daily Show with Desi Lydic (We Bought a Zoo, Friends with Better Lives), Jordan Klepper (The Opposition with Jordan Klepper, The Ghost and Molly McGee), Michael Kosta (Michael Kosta: Detroit. NY. LA, Jordan Klepper Fingers The Pulse: Moscow Tools) and Ronny Chieng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Crazy Rich Asians) who will host the other nights throughout the week.
“I’ve truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central. I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I’ll just have to suck it up…,” Jon Stewart stated per Deadline.
Deadline stated that the news can after The Daily Show was awarded the late-night Emmy in September, their second award in two years.
Stewart will continue to be an executive producer with showrunner and executive producer Jen Flanz (The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, Remembering RBG: A National Ugly Cries) and James Dixon (The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart, After Midnight), his manager.
“Jon’s incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today,” Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios Chris McCarthy (Out of Iraq, Gone Country) went on to say. “His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need which is why we are thrilled to have him leading The Daily Show for another year.”
