The CW released their trailer for Superman and Lois today and it has been met with some skeptical responses from fans, according to Comicbook. The highly anticipated series brings back Tyler Hoechlin (Superman, Supergirl) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane, Supergirl) in a new spinoff series that revolves around Lois Lane and Clark Kent’s relationship. The pair of them will face new threats as they fight against injustice and adversity. Fans have been hesitant to show support because most of the trailer footage doesn’t meet their expectations.
The trailer itself features Hoechlin flying through a maze of crystals that are very reminiscent of the gems Superman’s Fortress of Solitude are made from. In the trailer he looks concerned about these crystals, possibly revealing different versions of himself throughout the multiverse. Superman tries to use his heat vison to blast through them, yet they reflect like and bounce back at him.
Accompanied with Hoechlin’s narration about family, it seems like Superman and Lois will highlight the importance of the El bloodline as they played pivotal roles when Krypton was caving in on itself and possibly the importance of Clark starting a family with Lois so his bloodline will endure. Check out the trailer below to see Hoechlin dawning the cape once again.
Fans of the DC television shows, or Arrowverse as its now called, have taken to social media to comment on the lack of representation of Lois in the new trailer. Via Comicbook, the trailer was referred to as more of a teaser because the total runtime for the trailer barely reaches over a minute. “The minute-long trailer for Superman & Lois was arguably more of a teaser – a conceptual teaser if we want to get specific,” according to Comicbook. Here are some of the responses from fans about the recent trailer.
Not sure about Superman and Lois just from that teaser trailer. I was expecting it to show more tbh.

We’re going to get another promo or trailer before the premiere, right? The name of the show is Superman and Lois, and that’s a whole lot of Superman and basically no Lois. https://t.co/MfOJlvJsTX
