Deadline has reported that Doug Bradley (Nightbreed, Book of Blood) will be joining the cast of the CW’s Gotham Knights as the iconic DC Comic’s villain Joe Chill. Bradley is known for his role as Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise and is repped by Chris Roe Management. Gotham Knights premieres on March 14, 2023 and is based on the DC Comic characters created by Bill Finger (Joker, The Batman) and Bob Kane (Batman Returns, The Dark Knight).
Gotham Knights stars Anna Lore (Born Guilty, Frankenstein, MD) as Stephanie Brown, Navia Robinson (We Are Gathered Here Today, Disney Channel Summer Sing-Along) as Stephanie’s sidekick, Carrie Kelley, Misha Collins (Supernatural, Charmed) as Harvey Dent, and Oscar Morgan (Peaceful, Warren) as Bruce’s adopted son, Turner Hayes. Stephanie, Carrie, and Turner are a missmatched group of fugatives that must fight for Gotham after the murder of Bruce Wayne.
Bradley’s character, Joe Chill, became one of DC’s most infamous villains after murdering Bruce Wayne’s parents. Chill has been on death row for fifty years and does not want his secrets to go with him at his upcoming execution.
Deadline released this statement from series producers Chad Fiveash (Gotham, Switched at Birth), James Stoteraux (Three Kings, Batwoman), and Natalie Abrams (Supergirl, All American): “When casting the iconic role of Joe Chill, arguably the man who created Batman, there was only one name we considered … Doug Bradley. We needed an actor with the kind of gravitas that would do justice to such a seminal character in DC Comics canon. And who better to embody the role of the classic Gotham fiend than the man whose legendary portrayal of another classic fiend – Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise — continues to terrify generations of horror fans?”
