According to Deadline, The CW has just renewed Superman and Lois for fourth season which will include 10 episodes. This is following months of negotiations as it is the last remaining DC series on The CW network. The series which was once a part of The CW’s Arrowverse, is one of three series that were awaiting renewal decisions. Other than Superman and Lois, The CW has also renewed All American: Homecoming but canceled Gotham Knights. For the renewal to be possible the series will have budget cuts including a reduction of regular cast members aside from leads.
According to Deadline, last month The CW’s Entertainment President Brad Schwartz after being asked why these series were in renewal limbo said, “We’re still looking at those analyzing these shows … and looking at our budgets in 2024. We love all those shows, and they all do very well for us in different ways.’’
Schwartz also stated, “We are thrilled to bring All American: Homecoming and Superman & Lois back to The CW. These series are two of our strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms with some of the most passionate fanbases in all of television. We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.”
Below is a Twitter post by the series celebrating their renewal.
Superman and Lois follows the story of two heroic individuals facing the greatest challenge of being working parents. Superman, The Man of Steel, also known as Clark Kent, and his famous journalist wife Lois Lane now have to deal with the stress that comes with being parents while maintaining a work balance in today’s society.
