The CW has renewed many of its current scripted series. The network has announced that it is renewing 13 of its current series for the 20/21 season, including the very popular new shows Batwoman and Nancy Drew.
The CW has ordered a season 2 for Batwoman, Nancy Drew, All American, Black Lightning, Charmed, Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In the Dark, Legacies, Riverdale, Roswell, New Mexico, and Supergirl.

Additionally, the Riverdale spin-off series, Katy Keene, which hasn’t premiered yet, has been renewed for 13 additional episodes.
In the Dark, Roswell and Legends of Tomorrow have also been renewed for their second seasons but CW Executives have seen the episodes.
The network is set for no cancellations, and the only shows that are ending are Arrow, Supernatural and The 100. The CW is also streaming all of its veteran shows on Netflix.
Early renewals have been the norm on the CW for the last few years with President Mark Pedowitz. Now bucause of the upcoming WGA writers guild strike, there is an additional incentive as this will allow for shows to get finished scripts ahead of time and the impact from a possible writers work stoppage will be limited.
Inn an interview, CW president Mark Pedowitz said “These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season. We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman.”
The new shows on the CW in 20/21 include a Walker, Texas Ranger remake, a Kung Fu reboot, an Arrow spinoff series, a sequel to Dark Shadows, and Superman & Lois.
