The CW Has Greenlit Graphic Novel Series ‘Super Clean’ For TV

The CW has approved production on new series titled Super Clean. The drama/comedy will be based on an upcoming graphic novel, from Sascha Rothchild and CBS TV Studios. The comic, SuperCLEAN, was created by Heath Amodio and Cullen Bunn. Rothchild will executive produce the series with John Baldecchi, Doug Berry and Amodio taking on producing duties as well.

Currently, the CW produces fan favorite superhero shows such as Arrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, and The Flash. The addition of a new television series based on a graphic novel, will compliment its current line up well and possibly open the doorway for other similar works to be produced by the network.

Super Clean will explore the superhero genre from a more human perspective through a plot developed and written by Rothchild. Both premises will follow Becky Masters, a super intelligent and structured young woman, as she navigates the dangers and drama involved in cleaning up the destruction left by superheroes and villains. She is joined by a team of non-powered friends along the way, all while trying to prove her super powered boyfriend is innocent of a horrible crime.

The new series will mark a return to the CW for Rothchild, where she worked on Season 2 of The Carrie Diaries as a writer-producer. She is more well-known for her work as co-executive producer on Netflix’s GLOW, which has been renewed for its third season. Fans maybe able to expect a feminist approach and strong female lead, based on her previous works.
