Just after the cancellation of fellow DC Comics-based show and The CW series Batwoman, the network has also announced that Legends of Tomorrow after seven seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series premiered in January 2016.
Part of the Arrowverse, Legends of Tomorrow followed Rip Hunter – a time-traveling rogue – on a mission to prevent the impending destruction of the planet.
“We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could,” co-showrunner Keto Shimizu (Arrow) wrote in a social media post, via The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite having cancelled two of its DC-based shows, The CW has renewed its shows like The Flash and Superman & Lois alongside All American, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale and Walker for its upcoming 2022-2023 season. The network also ordered three other pilots this year, including a Supernatural spinoff, Gotham Knights and Walker prequels.
