‘The Croods’ Series Coming To Hulu And Peacock

The Croods: Family Tree, based on the 2020 DreamWorks Animation film The Croods: A New Age, will make its way to Hulu and Peacock on September 23, according to VarietyThe original films follow the Croods, a prehistoric family living in a dangerous moment in time who must eventually face the most daunting task yet – getting along with the family next door.

The upcoming series will center around the Bettermans and the Croods on their journey from rivals to friends as they work towards overcoming their differences. The series will star Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars), reviving her role as the voice of Dawn Betterman, Amy Landecker (Transparent) as Ugga, Kiff Vandenheuvel (Richie Rich) as Grug, Ally Dixon (Them) as Eep, AJ Locascio (Dawn of the Croods) as Thunk, Dee Bradley Baker (Phineas and Ferb) as Sandy, Artemis Pebdani (Big City Greens) as Gran, and Darin Brooks (Blue Mountain State) as Guy.

The Croods: Family Tree presents the rare opportunity for a series to air on competing streamers. Because both DreamWorks and Peacock are owned by NBCUniversal and Disney still has full control over Hulu since 2019, the series will premiere on Peacock and Hulu. A spinoff animated television series, Dawn of the Croods, which takes place prior to the events of the first film, debuted on Netflix in 2015 and ran for four seasons.

The franchise has been wildly successful with its movies alone, with the two films – The Croods and The Croods: A New Age – amassing $800 million worldwide. The season one trailer for The Croods: Family Tree is available to watch below and will be available to stream on Hulu and Peacock on September 23.
