As reported by an HBO press release, Sunday’s critically acclaimed final episode of The White Lotus had an impressive 6.2 million viewers across multiple platforms. This marks the third week in a row for record viewership and a 30 percent boost from last week.
The popularity of the series continues to grow, with a 51 percent increase in performance from season two. In comparison to the series debut back in 2021, the finale has achieved a 2.5x growth. The series primer has accumulated almost 20 million views in the US over the four years it has been available.
Throughout this entire season, The White Lotus has continued to draw the ire of its competitors as it garnered the number one title on Max every single week, both globally and domestically. With the show being renewed for a fourth season, other Max high performers such as Euphoria, House of the Dragon, and the video game-based hit series The Last Of Us may have their work cut out for them if they wish to surpass the dark-comedy social satire.
In a review of the final episode, titled “Amor Fati,” which translates to the love of one’s fate, mxdwn goes on to call the series finale a suspenseful addition to the hottest show around. They also claim that the episode brings a “tragic, yet unenviable, conclusion” to the beloved character’s arc. They gave the episode a just-below-perfect rating of 8/10.
