

It’s been eight years since the world was introduced to the show The Chi. Now the series has reached its eighth and final season.
For those who don’t know, The Chi tells a coming of age story about about the residents that live on Chicago’s South Side. The characters are Emmett, Brandon, Ronnie, and Kevin and they navigate daily dangers, romance, and ambition. The final season will have ten episodes that will roll out every Friday and will go to Paramount+ for streaming. According to Deadline, this will be the logline for the final season, “As The Chi enters its eighth and final season and its coldest winter ever, life or death choices must be made. The question becomes, who is willing to make them? Legacy, conflict, joy, and pain. It all collides in the biggest, most emotionally riveting way ever seen this season on The Chi.” In the teaser we hear this quote, “Life comes at you fast whether you’re ready for it or not,” the voiceover states. “Everything has to come to an end.”
The cast consists of Jacob Latimore (House Party, Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Michael Epps (Primary Position, Chicago Med), Shamon Brown Jr. (Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peppermint Spiral), Hannaha Hall (Perdido, Chicago Med), Luke James (Rob1n, Them), Rolando Boyce (Dream House, High Potential), Jason Weaver (Sistas, The Deadly Getaway), Ahmad Nicholas Ferguson (Moses the Black, Power Book IV: Force), Cortez Smith (Scheming, Loyalty Over Trust), Zaria Imani Primer (The Chi, Joe Pera Talks with You), Barton Fitzpatrick (Black Cats, White Mice, Toxic Harmony), Lynn Whitfield (The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, Eyes of Wakanda), Vic Mensa (Bel-Air, Sherman’s Showcase), Daniel J. Watts (The Penguin, Great Performances), and Brett Gray (Star Trek: Prodigy, I’m a Virgo).
The final season is set to release on May 22, 2026. In the meantime, you can watch the previous seven series on Paramount+ in order to get caught up for the main event.
