As stated by TVLine, And Just Like That is adding Cheri Oteri (Dumb and Dumber: When Harry Met Lloyd, Grown Ups 2), Jonathan Cake (Desperate Housewives, A Dance to the Music of Time), Kristen Schaal (The Last Man on Earth, Gravity Falls), Logan Marshall-Green (The O.C., Adopt Highway), Mehcad Brooks (A Fall from Grace, Supergirl), Patti LuPone (Agatha All Along, American Horror Story) and Rosie O’Donnell (Sleepless in Seattle, The Flinstones) to its season three.
Showrunner Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City, AJ and the Queen) sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly, to which he said, “The phrase that I would use for Season 3 is ‘new’… It’s new everything.“ Dolly Wells (Inside Man, Some Girls) plays BBC producer Joy, and Sebastiano Pigazzi (Time Is Up, We Are Who We Are) plays Anthony’s boyfriend, Giuseppe, both of whom have been promoted from guest stars to series regulars. The news also confirms King’s comment that season three brings in “lots of new loves” and “new obstacles for old loves.” TVLine believes Cynthia Nixon’s (The Gilded Age, The Only Living Boy in New York) Miranda and Well’s Joy will spark a new romance, given their last interactions in season two, where they have a drink after Miranda’s interview for the BBC. King commented on their relationship by saying, “Dating at 50 is an interesting thing. It is kind of a maze of how you move through the world at this point in your life.”
Karen Pittman (The Morning Show, Living With Yourself), who portrays Nya Wallace, and Sara Ramirez (Chicago, Grey’s Anatomy), who plays Che Diaz, will not return in season three of the Sex and the City sequel series. The showrunner stated in the EW interview, “We just moved forward because that’s what happens in New York City or in life. Sometimes you see someone who is so important to you and then you don’t see them again for 10 years.” He then added that the two characters are “still on the same island, but you don’t see them.”
