‘The Boys’ Season Three Sets Release Date

The Boys are back this summer on Amazon Prime. On Friday, the streamer confirmed the premiere date for the upcoming third season, which is due for June 3.

According to Variety, the first three episodes will release on June 3, with the remaining episodes releasing weekly — similar to how Amazon Prime rolled out the second season. The eight-episode season will conclude on July 8.

The Boys is a unique take on the superhero drama where heroes are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and are considered gods. The series shows what happens when our heroes abuse their powers rather than using them for good. A group of vigilantes, known as The Boys, set out to expose The Seven and Vought, the company that manages the heroes and covers up their dirty secrets.

The announcement came at the end of Amazon’s Boys tie-in, Seven on 7 with Cameron Coleman, which offers fans a look into the world of the show. At the end of the latest episode, the premiere date was announced, along with the first look at footage from the upcoming season. The footage showed Supes of the Seven members Homelander (Antony Starr) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) posing for Vought exec Ashley (Colby Minifie) before the camera pans to Homelander’s smile which becomes increasingly crazed.

The cast is will return for season 3, with Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) joining the cast as Soldier Boy.
