It has become wildly apparent that when it comes to fan fare, nobody does it better than Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian). In season two of the hit Star Wars spinoff, The Mandalorian, the executive producer was able to bring back multiple, beloved characters like Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, Bo Katan, and even Luke Skywalker.
Now, he is outdoing himself as in just one episode he was able to bring to life another character of his own creation, Cad Bane.
The infamous Duros bounty hunter from the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars made his debut this Wednesday in the latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett. The character has been heavily theorized as being in the show.
Bane appeared in the final few moments of the episode, an episode that included such iconic characters as Luke Skywalker and R2-D2, where he supposedly gunned down Tattoine law man Cobb Vanth, played by Timothy Olyphant (Hitman, Santa Clarita Diet).
Looking forward in the season, it looks like Bane will be looking with the Pyke crime syndicate to help dismantle Boba Fett’s hold on his territories. This could possibly set up a rematch between the two bounty hunters, a rematch for a fight that never was shown in The Clone Wars; however, a never-put-to-screen story arc for the Clone Wars was shown in the extras for the latest season of the show and featured the two facing off in a western style showdown that ended in Fett supposedly killing Bane.
Bane appearing in the show is further spurning other theories in the show, such as one that alleges the bounty hunter Bossk will make an appearance.
The Book of Boba Fett airs every Wednesday on Disney Plus, and this upcoming Wednesday will be the show’s last episode, much to fans’ chagrin.
