‘The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons is Sad but Ready to Leave the CBS Comedy Series

Back in August, we were hit with the devastating announcement that The Big Bang Theory will debut its 12th and final season. Many were confused on what could have led to the cancellation as the show was amidst high ratings – even after decade on air. Rumors were centered around Jim Parsons, who decided not to continue his role as Sheldon Cooper.

Parsons believed that the show got to do everything it wanted to do.”There’s no negative reason to stop doing Big Bang,” said Parsons. “It’s both as complex and as simple as that it just felt innately that it was time. We’ve gotten do so many things you know? And I think we could keep telling stories but it doesn’t have that, it feels like we’ve really gotten to chew all the meat off this bone, as it were.”

With Sheldon Cooper gone, many thought the show could stay on without Parsons. A lot of true fans appreciate each and every character, but Sheldon Cooper is the center of many storylines. His presence would leave a gap in future plot lines and his character is considered one of the most intriguing and fun out of all of the others. CBS supposedly offered a high paycheck to keep Parsons, but his decision was final.

After getting to know that they would be filming their last season, the cast was quite emotional about the news. Some were still finding it hard to accept the end. Kaley Cuoco is ready to come back for reboot where she will reprise her role as Penny. “Everyone’s doing rebooting. We might as well do it in, like, a year. I’m fine with that,” she said. Although we would love a reboot, we are not ready to say goodbye to the beloved series, itself.
