One of the famous cult classics of 2020, Yellowjackets is about to deliver its most anticipated narrative that audiences have been asking for. According to Comicbook, the plot of the psychological horror focuses on a girls’ soccer team that was stranded in the Canadian wilderness after surviving a plane crash and did everything they could to survive. The main myth behind the series that has truly captured the audience’s attention was the history behind the mysterious entity known as the antler queen, a central ritual figure of the group originally portrayed by young Shauna, played by Sophie Nélisse (Close, The Book Thief).
Reported by Comicbook, for the majority of the fourth and final season, the audience will see the adult version of the team trying to re-integrate back into society, which is shown by the main character Shauna, played by Melanie Lynskey (Heavenly Creatures, Ever After), Taissa, played by Jasmin Savoy (Scream, Sound of Violence), and Misty, played by Christina Ricci (Wednesday, Casper), returning to their normal lives. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth; while the girls have returned to their normal lives, they remain mentally broken from the trauma experienced during those 19 months.
Stated by Comicbook, the final season’s trailer displays that lingering secrets, shared trauma, and body counts are slowly catching up to the group, with their secrets exposed and the things they left on the mountain coming back to haunt them. Elijah Wood (Ready or Not 2, The Lord of the Rings) is set to play Misty’s mysterious boyfriend, while Sarah Desjardins (Riverdale, The Night Agent) will star as Callie, Shauna’s daughter. With so many new additions, the final season is shaping up to answer the questions that have been plaguing fans’ minds and give them a satisfying conclusion.
The final season of Yellowjackets is set for November 20 on Showtime, and while fans await the highly anticipated season release, all previous seasons are available to stream on Paramount+.
