“Get ready for a night of great hilarity. No joke,” said Paul Telegedy, the NBC president of Alternative and Late Night Programming.
According to Deadline, the franchise created in the late ‘80’s by George Schlatter will be back. The American Comedy Awards aired many years at ABC, at FOX and at Comedy Central where it died in 2001. The franchise will return in May and it will be produced at NBC by Don Mischer Prods. The executive producers are Charlie Haykel, Juliane Hare and Micher.
Paul Telegedy also said that “We all love a good laugh and The American Comedy Awards will be full of gut-busting material from the best comedians in our business.”
