Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold Will Be Joining The Comedy Central Animated Reboot Of ‘Everybody Hates Chris’

According to TVLine, Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Tichina Arnold (The Neighborhood) are returning to Brooklyn, New York City, in a new Comedy Central animated reboot of Everybody Hates Chris. Crews and Arnold will reprise their roles as Julius and Rochelle. They will be joined by series creator and executive producer Chris Rock (Grown Ups), who will return as the series narrator.

The series will also have many newcomers, including Tim Johnson Jr. (Saturdays), who inherits the role of Young Chris; Ozioma Akagha (Delilah), who will voice Chris’ sister Tonya; Terrence Little Gardenhigh (Danger Force), who will take over as Chris’ brother Drew and Gunnar Sizemore (Kung Fu Panda), who will voice Chris’ best friend Greg.

Everybody Hates Chris is a family sitcom that follows the family and life of a young Chris Rock. The series shows Rock’s life in Brooklyn, New York, in a neighborhood infested with drugs and gangs while attending an all-white public school across town.

As per TVLine, the series titled Everybody Still Hates Chris is an animated series that will reimagine the original series. In a previous statement, Chris McCarthy (The T Word), President/CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios, said, “Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedians of all time and we’re excited to partner with him, 3 Arts and CBS Studios to bring this to life and welcome it as the next big hit in our expanding arsenal of iconic adult animation.”

CBS president/CEO George Cheeks (Nitro Circus) added, “A reimagining of this groundbreaking, critically acclaimed series has been a source of creative discussions at our studio for a long time. It’s exciting to join forces with 3 Arts and the comedic genius of Chris Rock as he expands on his vision of the original show in this innovative new format. This also marks another significant in-house collaboration for CBS with Chris McCarthy and our valued partners at MTV Entertainment Studios as we jointly support this marquee series for Paramount+ and Comedy Central.”

Everybody Still Hates Chris is expected to premiere in late 2024 on Comedy Central.
