“Teen Wolf” Reaches All-Time High

Teen Wolf hit a ratings high with Monday’s season premiere, bringing in its biggest audience yet.

With 2.4 million viewers, the show averaged a 2.3 rating in the 12 – 34 age demo and a 4.1 among teenagers, the highest-rated telecast in that demographic on Monday.

The first two seasons debuted immediately following the MTV Movie Awards, one of the network’s highest-rated telecasts annually. Though the third season was not given this same lead-in, Teen Wolf still managed to perform even better than in previous years. The ratings were up 15 percent from last year’s season two premiere.

This ratings success indicates that MTV likely made the right choice in expanding the show’s third season. While the first two were 12 episodes each, last summer’s renewal called for a third season of 24 episodes. The first half of those will air this summer. No premiere date has yet been set for the back 12, to be filmed later this year.

Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10 PM on MTV.
