Team Coco Heads to Cuba to Film For Show.

Conan O’Brien was in Cuba to film a segment for his show on TBS over Presidents Day weekend.

Conan shot segments for his talk show in Cuba over the weekend which are set to air on TBS in March. The segments are meant to be “a rare glimpse into the daily life of a country not often seen by American viewers,” said an announcement by TBS.

Conan’s travel to Cuba comes after President Obama’s announcement in December 2014 that there would be a restoration of international relations between the U.S. and Cuba. Obama has opened an embassy in Havana as well as loosened travel restrictions to the country. Variety speculates that The episode is likely part of an improved relations push between the U.S. and Cuba.

This is not the first time Conan has taken his show on the road. He has been to multiple national and international destinations for the show including Ireland, Toronto, Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas.

Conan and the small crew that accompanied him to Cuba are now the first American late-night show to film in Cuba since the U.S. embargo began in 1962.

Upon his return to the U.S. on Monday, Conan tweeted about his trip

The Cuba episode of Conan will air March 4th on TBS.
