Deadline reports that the team behind Netflix’s limited series His & Hers is now working on new project. His & Hers was one of the most-watched Netflix limited series of this year. Actor Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Accountant 2) and actress Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor: Ragnarok) were the main leads of His & Hers as Jack and Anna. This series reached over 104 million views globally, and Alice Feeney (Sometimes I Lie, I Know Who You Are), who wrote the original book the series is based on, has sold over two million copies.
Feeney now has an upcoming book release next year called Twist. Twist has now been officially announced to be the next limited series the team will be working on after His & Hers. This news of the series development comes ahead of it’s book release, which is scheduled for next year on February 23rd.
Twist is a psychological mystery thriller that centers around Ariella, a flight attendant with a double life. When a husband is killed, that the team will explore who did the murder and why, along with if Ariella had something to do with the murder.
The team who worked on the His & Hers are now teaming up again with Fifth Season to develop Twist. William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth, Eileen) is set to return to write and direct the Twist series. Kristen Campo’s (See, The Good Guys) Campout Productions, Bill Dubuque (The Judge, Ozark) and Thompson’s Viva Maude, actress Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Zero Dark Thirty) and Kelly Carmichael’s (Ava, 355) Freckle Films have also been announced to produce the upcoming series with Fifth Season being the studio.
Feeney and Kishori Rajan (Random Acts of Flyness, Hedda) have also been announced as executive producers for Twist. Feeney has expressed her love for the team behind His & Hers and that this decision to create Twist with the same team was an easy decision due to the massive success of the limited series. She praises the team and is excited for her and the fans to see the characters from Twist come to life on screen like how His & Her came to be.
This is not the first or even second book of Feeney’s that has been announced for TV development. Feeney’s book, My Husbands Wife, was also announced this past year to be made into a TV series adaptation by Carnival Films.
Twist does not have an official premiere date set.
