If you’re looking to stream Search Party, your search is over! The TBS satirical comedy will soon be available on HBO Max for the show’s third and fourth seasons. After months of speculation, the series starring Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, State of Grace) will officially be back for another season next spring.
“With HBO Max we have the unique opportunity to continue this brilliant, acclaimed series and connect with even more of the younger, digital natives who have worshipped it the most,” said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer of HBO Max and president of TBS, TNT and truTV.
The critically acclaimed show will be streaming on the upcoming HBO Max service, which is being launched in 2020. The streamer will also be home to the show’s first two seasons as well and has issued an early renewal for the series’ fourth season.
The show’s second season follows privileged, self-absorbed 20-somethings Dory (Alia Shawkat), Portia (Meredith Hagner), Elliott (John Early) and Drew (John Reynolds) who must deal with the disastrous consequences of successfully tracking down their missing classmate Chantal (Clare McNulty). The single camera dark comedic series created by Sarah-Violet Bliss (Fort Tilden, Search Party), Charles Rogers (Wet Hot American Summer) and Michael Showalter (The Big Sick), will be produced by Jax Media’s Lilly Burns and Tony Hernandez (Russian Doll, Broad City).
“Search Party is alive and thriving!! We are so thrilled to show the world what we’ve been working on the past two years and for new fans to find it on HBO Max,” said the show’s executive producers Bliss and Rogers. “You’re going to love the two new seasons, but if for some reason you don’t, then you’ll get your subscription fee back. Actually, that’s not true. That’s a joke. We don’t have that kind of power.”
A set release date for Search Party is yet to be announced.
