According to TVLine, Tatiana Maslany (Stronger, Bite Size Halloween) has been cast for Amazon MGM Studios The Nightbeast pilot. The actress known for being on Orphan Black, Invincible and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will produce and star in the new series. The Amazon MGM Studios series comes from Leah Rachel (Chambers, Day by Day) and Travis Jackson (Hemlock Grove, Adam, Vampire.), who are also credited as writers on the series
As per TVLine, the description for The Nightbeast is as follows: “a young mother who is unsatisfied with her seemingly perfect suburban life, so she begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet — a surprisingly sexy man called the Nightbeast, But this harmless affair she thought to be a figment of her imagination begins to have unexpected consequences, as her two worlds increasingly begin to collide in this seductive, darkly comedic tale.”
Maslany has starred in many series in main roles and as a guest star. She starred in Perry Mason and Heartland, along with numerous other series. She guest starred in Parks and Recreation, Being Erica, The Nativity, Drunk History and many others. Maslany also won an Emmy in 2016 for her role in Orphan Black. She also starred in AMC’s dramatic series Invitation to a Bonfire, which the network scrapped even though it had already filmed more than half the first season.
The project’s executive producers include Peter Warren (Sid Is Dead, Ghost Team), Justin Levy (Listening In, In the Cloud), Fred Berger (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, La La Land), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious: The Red Door, Water Rises), Kristen Campo (The L Word: Generation Q, The Deep Mad Dark) and director Jamie Babbit (Only Murders in the Building, A League of Their Own).
The rest of the series cast has yet to be announced, as Amazon MGM Studios has not revealed them
