‘Tales From The Darkside’ Getting a Reboot From The CW

The CW plans a reboot of George A. Romero’s Anthology Series ‘Tales from the Darkside.’

The CW is adding horror related shows such as Supernatural with a new adaptation of George A. Romero’s Tales from the Darkside.

According to Indiewire, the original series premiered in 1983 and ran in syndication from 1984-1988. Joe Hill will write the reboot, whose 2010 novel Horns was recently adapted into a film. Hill is son of Stephen King, whose stories were used in some of the original Tales from the Darkside episodes.

“As far as DARKSIDE goes, it’ll recall the original show, but won’t be the same. The main thing: the original was scary-fun & this’ll be too,” Hill tweeted.

The show is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman (Sleepy Hollow producer), Roberto Orci (Sleepy Hollow producer), Mitch Galin, Heather Kadin and Jerry Golod.

The half-hour series has an estimated premiere date in the summer of 2014.
