Spooky season is starting to arrive, and what better way to celebrate than the release of a trailer for a dystopian Korean thriller series about the auction of organs from an unwilling donor? Bargain, the award-winning series is coming to Paramount+ in October.
The trailer, released on August 30th, is a first glance at this eerie new series. Set in a dystopian future, Bargain is about men who are being lured to a hotel with the intention of sexual encounters and affairs. These assumptions are then met with a sinister reality, as these men are then caught in a human trafficking ring where their organs are harvested and auctioned off. But as the auction goes on, an earthquake hits and all those who are involved in the trafficking are trapped in the destroyed building. They then have to escape the aftermath and fight for their freedom.
The trailer brings the audience on a suspenseful journey in itself, starting off peacefully as two characters engage in a business interaction, but then suddenly, he is tied up, blindfolded, and surrounded by bidders who are all trying to buy his kidneys. The tension is at its peak as when the final bidder is announced, it seems like they are going to carve into him to retrieve the kidneys, but before anything can happen, the earthquake hits. Among the rubble, other victims form alliances, betray each other, and do whatever it takes to turn the man in who was supposed to be giving up his organs. As the trailer continues, chaos ensues as the characters turn on each other in their efforts to escape the death trap.
