According to Deadline, the upcoming Showtime follow-up series Dexter: Resurrection has announced the casting of Marc Menchaca (Ozark, Inside Amy Schumer) as Red. They have also announced that Reese Antionette (Bad Monkey, The Ballad of Suzanne Césaire) will play Joy, the daughter of Blessing Kamara.

Production began at the beginning of the year in New York, with a premiere date set for this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime. Deadline also confirmed that John Lithgow (Interstellar, The Simpsons) would reprise the role of Arthur Mitchelle and Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith) as Miguel Prado. Michael C Hall (Gamer, Six Feet Under) will also be returning as the lead actor in the role of Dexter.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips (Get Real, Nurse Jackie) seems to have a cameo-guest-star packed season in store, with mxdwn previously reporting that pop icon, Emmy, and Tony award-winning Neil Patrick Harris (A Series of Unfortunate Events, How I Met Your Mother) will also be guest starring. He is said to be taking on the role of Lowell, with not much information on the details of the character.

Most notably, joining the cast for the follow-up series is spunky action hero Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Vol.1). Her work on the 90’s classic ‘Pulp Fiction’ garnered her cult following which seemingly doubled with her epic performance in the Kill Bill series. It may be safe to say that Thurman fans and Dexter fans alike will be rejoicing at the news of her casting. Deadline reports her character, Charley, to be a resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman with experience in Special Ops. This sounds like a role that will be right up Thurman’s alley.

Back on X, user @DEX7Y shares a first look at images of Thurman in her new role. He also speculates that she will be playing head of security for a mysterious billionaire, Leon Prater. Dexter: Resurrection will premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.
