The CW’s long running drama about demon-fighting brothers has a new trailer for its upcoming eleventh season – and it promises to be a dramatic one.
Season 10 left off with Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) killing of Death (Julian Richings). Season 11 is going to deal with the aftermath of that decision. Dean killed Death to save his brother Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) but the consequences of this are that there is a new mysterious Darkness that has been released on the world.
The trailer for season 11, which can be seen below, gives a glimpse at a world without Death keeping order.
The trailer is set to Death’s song “O Death,” and shows a world in utter chaos. There seems to be no shortage of problems for the Winchester brothers to handle, including a creepy clown that approaches someone seemingly dying in a hospital.
Rowena (Ruth Connell) correctly assumes that the brothers are responsible for this new world and asks,”What new hell has Dean Winchester unleashed upon the world?”
There’s also a very short glimpse at newcomer Emily Swallow. Swallow will play Amara, a sinister but beautiful character whose exact role in season 11 is still unknown other than the fact that she will play a recurring role, according to TVLine.
Other notable scenes in the trailer include plenty of shots of Misha Collin’s Castiel suffering and Mark Sheppard’s Crowley looking smug.
The most foreboding part of the trailer comes when an unknown character tells someone,”I know you’re dying. I can feel it.” Who she says this to is unknown but it opens the door for speculation about the safety and survival of the show’s main characters. For a show not afraid of killing people off, both Winchester brothers continue to survive but could this new season spell the end for one of them?
As always in the Supernatural world, nothing is ever certain and no character is beyond being brought back, so fans will just have to wait for the season premiere on October 7 on The CW to find out more.
