According to Comicbook.com, Superman & Lois released a new teaser trailer for its final season. The full season four trailer is expected to be released on July 27 at San Diego Comic-Con.
In the trailer, we hear Michael Cudlitz’s (The Walking Dead, Southland) Lex Luthor say, “Superman is dead. Can we just enjoy the moment?” As we see Superman being pulled by Doomsday into space, a shot of Lois Lane crying and Superman’s tattered cape flapping in the wind.
Superman & Lois will return for its fourth and final season on Thursday, October 17, airing at 8 p.m. ET with a meaty two-hour premiere.
Brad Schwartz, the CW’s entertainment president, revealed his thoughts on the season after watching nine episodes. “I have watched nine of the 10 episodes and [they are] f–king awesome. It is a weekly event television. Greg Berlanti and the producers have constructed 10 bangers. They really go for it. I’ve cried twice watching [the first nine episodes], and I haven’t even gotten to the finale yet. It’s Emmy-worthy. And, by the way, you can watch this final season without having watched the previous [seasons] and still be emotionally invested in what is happening. It’s a wonderful, 10-episode, contained arc.”
Elizabeth Tulloch (Grimm, The Artist), who plays Lois Lane in the series, also touched on the finale’s impact. “It’s bananas. It’s emotional. What they did was based on one of the comics. It was a very bold decision on their part to do this and to pull it off for the first episode of Season 4.”
Along with Tulloch, the series also stars Dylan Walsh (The Lake House, The Stepfather) as Sam Lane, Erik Valdez (New Girl, General Hospital) as Kyle Cushing, Emmanuelle Chiriqui (Wrong Turn, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan) as Lana Lang, Inde Navarette (Wander Darkly, 13 Reasons Why) as Sarah Cushing, Tayler Buck (American Crime Story, Annabelle: Creation) as Natalie Irons, Wole Parks (All American) as John Henry Irons, Sofia Hasmik (Bad Samaritan, All The Bright Places) as Chrissy Beppo, Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Everybody Wants Some) as Clark Kent/Superman, Michael Bishop (Spin, Grace Beside Me) as Jonathan Kent, Douglas Smith (Don’t Worry Darling, Big Love) as Jimmy Olsen and Alex Garfin (New Amsterdam, The Peanuts Movie) as Jordan Kent.
