The Starz drama Power is adding Fast and Furious actor Sung Kang to its cast. A story by Variety revealed that Kang recently closed a deal to join the show. This announcement comes shortly after the series received a two-season renewal.
Power is a crime drama produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Bernie Mac Show, The Good Wife). The story follows “Ghost” (Omari Hardwick), a New York City nightclub owner who moonlights as a drug kingpin. In addition to Hardwick (Being Mary Jane, Dark Blue), Power also stars Lela Loren (H+, Gang Related) and Naturi Naughton (The Client List, The Playboy Club).
Kang is best known for playing the role of Han in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Han was known for two things: being really cool and dying in a spectacular car crash. The character was very popular with Fast and Furious fans, to the point that the next three movies in the franchise took place before Tokyo Drift just so they could still feature Han. Kang’s previous television appearances include Fox’s Gang Related and MADtv, as well as a recent guest appearance on Hawaii Five-0. His role in Power is currently unknown.
Power‘s third season premiered on the Starz network in July, and the season finale will air this Sunday, September 25th.
