Good news for Suits fans: Gabriel Macht (Beverly Hills, 90210, Pearson) will be reprising his old role as lawyer Harvey Specter in a three-episode arc for the NBC spinoff Suits: L.A., Deadline exclusively reports.
According to Deadline, Suits: L.A. was announced over a year ago when the original series became popular after it was added to Netflix’s catalog. Fans were speculating possible theories of OG cast members returning to reprise their old roles. NBC has hinted in the past at that possibility, and most of the OG cast shared they would love to be in it only if the Suits creator, Aaron Korsh (Pearson, The Story of the Royals), would have called them.
It has been confirmed, according to Deadline, that the characters of Harvey Specter and Suits: L.A.‘s main lead, Ted Black, portrayed by Stephen Amell (Arrow, Heels), have a similar background and are both New York City prosecutors.
Because of this, fan theories are actually becoming true, as Macht teased his official return on Wednesday night with an Instagram post, alongside the following caption, via Deadline: “When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right.” The post can be seen embedded below.

According to Deadline, “Suits: L.A. focuses on the life of Ted Black, played by Amell, a former federal prosecutor in New York who has now moved to Los Angeles to redeem himself, as he is currently representing important clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other, and they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All this happens while the show slowly unravels the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved to start all over.”
According to Deadline, Korsh is also the spinoff’s writer and executive producer, alongside Doug Liman (Jason Bourne, Chaos Walking), Anton Cropper (Fantasy Football, Black-ish), David Bartis (Edge of Tomorrow, The Wall), Gene Klein (Impulse, The Recruit), Rick Muirragui (Whiskey Cavalier, National Treasure: Edge of History), Genevieve Sparling (Smallville, Suits) and Jon Cowan (Bionic Woman, Alert: Missing Persons Unit).
Suits: L.A. is set to be released on NBC on Feb. 23.
