The official trailer for the fourth season of Succession has finally been released by HBO. The Emmy-winning drama series will make its debut on Sunday, March 26, 2023, and will be its final season, according to a press release by HBO.
According to Variety, the logline of the fourth season of Succession is: “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The potential of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle transpires as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely shortened.”
In the trailer, Logan Roy, played by Brian Cox (X2: X-Men United, Troy), and his children Kendall, Shiv, and Roman, played by Jeremy Strong (The Trial of the Chicago 7, The Judge), Sarah Snook (Predestination, Steve Jobs), and Kieran Culkin (Home Alone, Father of the Bride) respectively, each seem willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top in the sale of WaystarRoyco, according to E News.
According to Variety, the trailer catches further disarray from the Roy siblings as they plan to undermine their father and seize the reins of power from him. Concurrently, Connor Roy, played by Alan Ruck (Speed, Twister), is organizing a presidential bid opposing Jeryd Mencken, played by Justin Kirk (Weeds, Jack & Jill), and Gerri, played by J. Smith-Cameron (Margaret, Man on a Ledge), threatening to sue Roman and Logan reveals violent, magnific plans to a spouting ATN staff, including a happy-go-lucky Cousin Greg, played by Nicholas Braun (Sky High, Princess Protection Program).
Also included in the staff are Jeannie Berlin (The Heartbreak Kid, Margaret), Matthew Macfayden (Death at a Funeral, Ripper Street), Alexander Skarsgård (The Legend of Tarzan, Big Little Lies), Zoe Winters (In the Family, Flatbush Misdemeanors), Peter Friedman (Paycheck, Single White Female), Fisher Stevens (Super Mario Bros., The Blacklist), Justine Lupe (Luckiest Girl Alive, Mr. Mercedes), David Rasche (Men in Black 3, In the Loop), Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049, The Visitor), and Scott Nicholson (Die Hard with a Vengeance, The Wolf of Wall Street).
