Netflix recently released the second trailer for Stranger Things, an original series which is set to debut next month.

The upcoming series is also a coming of age story for three boys who encounter this peculiar girl when she appears in their quaint community. They are also brought into a world where mysteries lurk beneath the surface.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), Matthew Modine (Dr. Brenner), David Harbour (Chief Hopper), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Millie Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler).
Watch the second trailer below:
The trailer kicks off by showing the outside of a house with lawn sprinklers turned on at night. Then inside the home, we see four boys playing a board game then it fast forwards to them taking off home in their bikes. One of the boys, separates from his friends and somehow winds up wandering somewhere in the woods. The next day, there’s a search party and posters that read “missing” with the same boy’s face on them. We also hear a voiceover of his mom crying and saying “Will is missing. I don’t know where he is.” Later the three boys search for their missing friend out in the woods at night in the pouring rain. Then one of them comments “Guys, I really think we should turn back.” Suddenly, they hear something and turn their flashlights toward the sound only to see a little girl standing there and panting as if she just finished running. The rest of the trailer shows clips of secret government agents asking about the girl and saying “She can’t have gone far. Find her.” So it’s safe to assume she’s likely some time of science experiment that escaped from their lab. This becomes more obvious at the end of the teaser where we see members of this secret government agency trying to capture the girl as she uses her supernatural abilities to stop them.
The upcoming “‘80s” series was created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines, Hidden), who directed several episodes as well. Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen executive produced the series alongside the Duffer siblings. Levy also directed a couple episodes.
Stranger Things premieres on the streaming service July 15th.
