Since the exceedingly popular series Stranger Things released in 2016, its amassed millions and millions of fans worldwide. The show first introduced us to brilliantly talented actors and actresses such as Millie Bobby Brown (also known for her work in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019 and 2021) , Finn Wolfhard (IT 2017) and Sadie Sink (her upcoming musical drama O’Dessa), along with so many others. Now, the final season is fast approaching, and Finn Wolfhard who stars as Mike Wheeler, is teasing the Sci-fi drama’s ending. Speaking to the IndieWire, Wolfhard looks back fondly on his time on Stranger Things and subtly mentions his future projects.
As the beloved Stranger Things crew gears up for their final adventures in the series finale, Finn Wolfhard couldn’t say much towards the finale’s secret twists and turns, only telling the IndieWire that their wrap up of filming was emotional, but everyone is happy with the outcome. “It was super emotional, but we’re all unbelievably happy with the finished product. We just can’t believe it’s over, but we can’t wait until people see it.” Wolfhard’s only tease towards the ending was that its going to be bittersweet for fans.
Since the series finale was announced in mid February of this year, the creators of the series, The Duffer Brothers (Hidden, Wayward Pines), had originally planned to air only four seasons, before teasing the renewal back in 2017. The final season will air eight episodes, following the same intensity from season four, leaving fans and viewers with an epic turn of events. While the date has not been released yet for the series, rumors suggest it may release between October and November of 2025, according to the Digit.in .
In a previous article on Mxdwn, The Duffer Brothers attended a Netflix Press Event back in February, noting that they were ahead of schedule and planning some “big reveals” for season five, leaving fans with anxious anticipation. The returning cast will be joined by new faces such as Linda Hamilton (The Terminator, The Terminator 2: Judgement Day), Nell Fisher (Evil Dead: Rise), Jake Connelly (Between the Silence), and Alex Breaux (Eco Village).
