The highly anticipated fifth season of Stranger Things is drawing closer, and with it, a wave of fan theories and speculation about the renowned show, which made its debut in 2016, follows. According to Screenrant, the series director, Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine), has taken to Instagram to release footage for the upcoming and final season of the popular mystery thriller series, further supporting the flashback theory. One picture showcased Finn Wolfhard (Ghostbuster: Frozen Empire), Noah Schnapp (Hubie Halloween) and the Duffer brothers on Levy’s carousel of images. Another photo showcases the return of the letter wall, which Joyce, played by Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), used to communicate with Will in the Upside Down.
According to Screenrant, the season will follow where the previous one ended with the Upside Down merging with Hawkins and the city becoming ground zero as it is attacked by hordes of creatures. The fifth season is set to be time leap into the future and gives a glimpse into the chaos that the citizens have experienced.
