Netflix’s Stranger Things has made its way to Number one spot on the streamer’s weekly list. According to Deadline, the series has amassed 34.5 million views from December 22 to 28. This was all possible thanks to the three newly released episodes that premiered on Christmas day.
The final season as many people were aware of was split into three parts or volumes leading to its final episode which premieres on December 31, 2025. Deadline mentions, that during the week prior Volume One had accumulated 8.2 million views back in November. During that time the series was at the fourth place and over the time Netflix calculated the views as hours viewed divided by the runtime and with the new episodes coming in they were more than three hours. Netflix hasn’t revealed the total amount of viewers that saw the second volume of the series.
As for the rest of the top ten all four seasons from the series were put on there with their view counts. At the number five spot season one had 4.8 million views, season 2 was at the number nine spot with 3.6 million views, season three was at the number eight spot with 3.6 million views, and season four was at the number six spot with 4.1 million views. There was one contender that had nearly the same amount of viewers when it came to streaming and that was The Great Flood. According to Deadline, the Korean disaster film took first place on the non-English film list with 33.1 million views almost matching with the final season of Stranger Things.
In second place for the streamer’s list was the series Emily in Paris. The fifth season was able to amass total of 13.3 million views, which according to Deadline, was on par with its debut week. In third place was Dave Chappelle’s new comedy special The Unstoppable which had a viewer count of 9.2 million views.
