The cast of Stranger Things is getting a massive raise. According to sources from The Hollywood Reporter this week, the child stars of the supernatural Netflix hit will receive about 12 times money than before. They claim the deal closed last week ahead of Season 3 production, which begins April 23. So how much cash is that for these young actors? According to the report, Netflix is shelling up to $350,000 per episode per star.
Here’s the reported breakdown of Netflix plays stars of the ‘80s nostalgic series.
Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) and David Harbour (Jim Hopper) are said to receive $350,000 an episode.
Stranger Things’ child stars – Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henerson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler ) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers)– reportedly pocket $250,00 an episode.
Those playing teens on the show – Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers) and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) – reportedly earn $150,000 per episode.
However, it isn’t clear how much Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) makes in The Upside Down. In September, it was reported that Brown “separated herself from the rest of the cast during the renegotiation” but is believed to be making at least $250,000 per episode along with the other child stars.
Some sources have said Brown may be receiving up to $350,000 per side, like Ryder and Harbour.
Others have said she makes $300,000 per episode. This would take her down from the top tier, which includes Ryder, who’s a two-time Oscar nominated actress (Best Supporting Actress for The Age of Innocence (1993) and Best Actress for Little Women (1994)), and Harbour, who’s received Emmy and Golden Globe nods for Stranger Things.
Brown was also nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of spooky, yet lovable, Eleven.
Regardless, it seems the Stranger Things cast’s wallets have been getting increasingly swollen. According to report, the child stars were making in the low $20,000s per episode during Seasons 1 and 2.
Meanwhile, Ryder was reportedly making $100,000 per episode, while Harbour was making $80,000.
Netflix declined to comment on the report.
