As reported by Deadline, Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time, The Last Of Us) will be leaving Euphoria for its third season. In an interview with TMZ, Reid expressed mixed feelings about her departure. The main reasons for not returning to the show include her upcoming graduation from USC and a conflicting schedule, but she will be watching, as stated in a quote below.
“I’m not, but I’m so excited to watch it, I can’t wait,” she informed TMZ after asking if she would be returning to the series created by Sam Levinson (The Idol, MaXXXine).
When asked what she’ll miss most about the show, Reid stated, “Just being with the whole crew and cast has been such an amazing experience, and I’m forever indebted to the show. I’ll miss them. I’ll miss hanging out with them but it’s going to be a good reason and I can’t wait to watch.”
In addition to sharing her feelings of excitement and what she’ll miss about production, she mentions she “cannot wait to see what they [cast] pull together because it’s been a long time and we all want to watch.”
“Euphoria is always going to be cultural phenomenon whether you like it or not,” she added in the TMZ interview. “People want to tune in. People want to see what’s going to happen with Ru, so I will be there.”
She also mentioned how important Zendaya (Shake It Up, Spider-Man: Far From Home) is to her and that she’ll always have the memories they shared, which will “always be near and dear” to her heart.
Per Deadline, Reid played Gia Bennett, the sister of Zendaya’s Rue Bennett, for Euphoria’s previous two seasons. Her production company, A Seed & Wings, had many projects for her, to which she stated, “Schedules just can’t align sometimes.
Barbie Ferreira (Unpregnant, House of Spoils) will also not return for season three, as reported by mxdwn, for reasons unrelated to the alleged toxic environment. The show is starting production this month and will debut in 2026.
