On November 5, 2025, voice actress Maythe Guedes passed away at age 55. Maythe Guedes was a Latin American voice actress of Venezuelan descent, who dubbed the voice over of many notable cartoons. She was in shows like Danny Phantom, Spongebob Squarepants, and Steven Universe.

Maythe Guedes (Steven Universe, Danny Phantom), voiced the character Rose Quartz who was the mother, of Steven Quartz Universe. The Doblarte Films Academy released a statement when it came to her passing. The statement reads, “We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone present, and also to those who supported our beloved Maythe Guedes in various ways during the difficult time she went through. Today, Maythe accompanies us from above, singing and playing endless melodies, giving voice to angels and dreams. Although her body is no longer with us, her essence, her talent, and her love for this family will continue to resonate in every story we tell. Thank you for every word, every prayer, every gesture of support. Because Maythe will continue to give voice to the impossible… from where only the truly great can: from heaven” (Comicbook). Maythe Guedes also voiced one of the villians on Danny Phantom known as Ember McLain. It showed that she worked with both Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.

Maythe Guedes was also apart of some Japanese anime adaptation. According to Behind the Voice Actors Maythe Guedes was also a part of a Japanese anime adaptation called “Legend of the Twilight”, where she voiced a character called Hotaru in the Spanish dub. She also voiced Mimiru in .hack//SIGN, along with Okoi from Basilisk, and Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Batman Tv series in 2004. Maythe Guedes had incredible range when it came to her voice acting career.

According to Comicbook, Maythe Guedes passed away from cervical cancer. Maythe Guedes will be missed by many and her talents will not go unnoticed.
