According to The Hollywood Reporter, Starz revealed bonus teaser for Outlander before the release of the upcoming eighth season. Released as part of the “12 Days of Outlander” series for fans, the teaser depicts a distraught Jamie Fraser as he warns that “nothing can prepare you for how it ends.”
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the official logline for season eight reads, “Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser’s Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they’ve left the war for America’s freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge has only just begun.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast of the series includes Sam Heughan (The Spy Who Dumped Me, A Princess for Christmas) as Jamie Fraser, Caitríona Balfe (Now You See, Ford v Ferrari) stars as Claire, while Sophie Skelton (Day of the Dead: Bloodline, I Can Only Imagine 2), Richard Rankin (The Crimson Field, The Replacement), John Bell (Wrath of the Titans, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), David Berry (The Crater: A True Vietnam Story, A Place to Call Home), Charles Vandervaart (Lost in Space, Murdoch Mysteries) and Izzy Meikle-Small (Great Expectations, The 7.39) make up the rest of the cast.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the eighth and final season of the series will air on Starz on March 6. New episodes for the instalment will air weekly on Fridays. Although this will be the ending to the current series, there is a prequel spinoff, Blood of My Blood that got renewed for a second season.
