Prime Video’s The Boys season four is just around the corner, and with it comes a deeper look into Starlight’s played by Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones) past. According to Screenrant, the approaching season will introduce a new superhero named Firecracker, who will be a part of The Seven and be played by Valorie Curry (Blair Witch). It would seem that there is bad blood between Firecracker and Annie, and this upcoming season could give further details on their relationship.
According to Screeenrant, Moriarty had an interview with Comicbook.com, along with fellow co-stars Karen Fukuhara (Bullet Train) and Claudia Doumit (Timeless). They spoke about her bullying and how it always led back to Starlight’s relationship with her mother. Erin commented on how she loves the revelation and how she approached it.
Moriarty said,”I love that they keep adding these flaws and vulnerabilities to a character that ultimately, in my mind, make her more endearing, more appealing to play, more appealing to watch. And it’s just, to me, the most surprising part was when I have a moment with Firecracker where she reveals a part of my past where I was a bully. That was like, for myself, as Erin, was something that I had to transcend. Like, I was a bully in my past. And I did that. And there’s a reason why I did that because my mom was doing this, and this and that. I love that moment. Because that, to me, is the most unambiguous malicious moment. We’ve seen her exemplify—everything else has been with a good intention. I love that they add those little bits.”
The upcoming season four of The Boys is scheduled to premiere with three episodes on Prime Video on June 13. While waiting for the debut, fans can rewatch the previous three seasons and the spinoff Gen V.
