According to ComicBook, Aramis Knight (Ender’s Game, Megamind), star of Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe series, Ms. Marvel, has given a disappointing update on his character Red Dagger. While interviewing with Screen Rant over his new upcoming film Karate Kid: Legends, Knight was asked about his role in the Ms. Marvel series and if he will be returning for a possible second season.
“I wish not, but I think so,” Knight told to Screen Rant, when asked if his time in the MCU is over. “I don’t think so. I mean it’s been a long time now, so I am not really sure. I mean I would love to. I was supposed to make appearances and other things but it didn’t end up working out and some logistical stuff and COVID stuff and I think also creative stuff. But I mean that was also an amazing show, but I dunno, I’m still waiting for the call to be honest.”
Ms. Marvel series aired on Disney+ in 2022 and followed the origin story of Kamala Khan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series followed Kamala, who is a teenager in Jersey City, New Jersey, as she learns more about her heritage as well as the abilities gained when she discovers the family’s bangle that has been passed down through generations. Kamala’s hero name comes from her admiration for her hero, Captain Marvel.
The cast of the series includes Iman Vellani (Shiver, Avengers: Quantum Encounter) as Kamala Khan, Matt Lintz (The Walking Dead, Pixels) as Bruno, Zenobia Shroff (The Affair, The Resident) as Muneeba, Yasmeen Fletcher (The Graduates, American Spirit) as Nakia, Rish Shah (Do Revenge, The Long Goodbye) as Kamran and many others.
As per ComicBook, the series earned enthusiastic reviews, with many praising its unique style of the series compared to other Marvel shows. The series also laid down the foundation for the character of Kamala to join the MCU as she is seen later in the Marvel film The Marvels alongside Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau.
Ms. Marvel is available to stream on Disney+, the second season has yet to be announced.
